ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hello and Welcome to Mecklenburg Studio!

My name is Audrey Mecklenburg and I am currently a Senior at Wesleyan College majoring in studio art and minoring in elementary education.

​

From a young age, I have always enjoyed artmaking. In school, I was the kid in class that doodled on literally everything. In high school, I experienced my first formal art class. Now, I am completing my bachelor's degree and starting my own studio as a professional artist focusing in a variety of media including oil painting, acrylic painting, ceramic sculpture, and photography.

In my work you will find a variety of subjects. However, my primary focus is in equine art, specifically conveying their spirit. From the age of five I began riding horses and have not stopped since. Horses play an important role in my life and in my work. I also enjoy creating works with nature and it's many other creatures as the subject, again conveying the spirit or taking the viewer on an emotional journey through life experiences.
